So this was our Christmas card for 2010:) Like each year, I procrastinated taking pictures for our Christmas cards. I had finally started feeling OK with the fact that we would just not send out cards this year, when I started talking to a friend and she said she would do a quick and easy photo shoot for me. The morning of, Joe woke up feeling really sick and so I was just going to cancel. To tell you the truth, I wasn't too sad about the idea of canceling pictures. I hadn't searched high and low for the perfect outfits and so I really didn't mind missing. Claire talked me into doing just the kids so I said "why not..." I could kill two birds with one stone....after Christmas card photos we could run over to the mall and take our traditional Santa pictures! I'm SOOOO glad we didn't cancel!! Claire was awesome! We only had to drive 5 min to this field and then it took her a whole, whopping fifteen min. to shoot the pictures. Everyone smiled and it was painless...maybe even a bit fun:)) She did an amazing job and it made me wonder why I have such painful memories of taking family photos? Now I'm a little sad....maybe it's because my kids are growing up (way too fast!) and there are no crying toddlers to jump up and down and make silly faces at:( Now if life would only freeze like these cute pictures!:)

"The Bethlehem innkeeper never got a second chance to house the holy family, but those who seek to follow the babe born in his stable will not only make room for Christ, they will emulate his light, his love and his care for others." "Life's busyness requires a conscious, committed effort to bring Christ into our homes and lives. And while opportunities to give of self are limitless, they are also perishable. There are hearts to gladden. There are kind words to say. There are gifts to be given. There are deeds to be done. There are souls to be saved." "Those who take the time to seek out those in need emulate Christ. As we do serve him, we will not forfeit our opportunity, as did the innkeeper of old-to make time for him in our lives and room for him in our hearts."-Pres.Thomas S. Monson
